Meeting in Romania

THE DIARY OF THE 6TH PROJECT MEETING IN BUCHAREST IN ROMANIA

27 February – 2 March 2012

On 26th and 27th February 2012 all the project partners, teachers and students, arrived in Bucharest, Romania.

In the evening we had an opening ceremony of the sixth meeting. The headmistress of the school welcomed all the partners. On 28th February in the morning we had meeting with local authorities and after that we visited  No 26 School. Our colleagues showed us some classrooms and then the project work session was held. We chose the cover of the Peace Book and agreed on final details about its editing. We exchanged the CDs with all presentations done during almost two years.

At the same time workshop for students was held. Children made  “martisoare” – small brooches celebrating spring, offered to girls and women at the beginning of March. At school we visited Students´ club and  danced together with the children. In the afternoon we could see the city and the Peasant Museum.

0n 29th February project participants, students, together with their Romanian friends had a trip to Bran Castle, known as Dracula´s Castle, situated between Transylvania and Wallachia. The castle is now a museum open to tourists, displaying art and furniture collected by Queen Maria. We also visited old Transylvanian town Brasov and Peles Castle in Sinaia.

On 29th February we visited No 23 School. We said hello to children in their classrooms. In the afternoon we visited the Palace of the Parliament, the world’s largest civilian building and the most most expensive administrative building. We were fascinated by it - full of marble, steel and bronze. Then we had a two hour walk in Bucharest. In the evening we enjoyed a wonderful farewell dinner organized by our Romanian friends. We tasted traditional Romanian food. A lot of nice moments and emotions will make this Comenius meeting unforgettable.

Thank you very much  our Romanian friends.
